Zakopane

Located in Southern Poland, on the foot of the Tatra Mountains, 120 kilometers south of Kraków, Zakopane is called as the capital of Polish mountains. Zakopane is the most popular center of winter sports and summer hikes in Poland.

The most popular hiking destinations are the 1985-meter-high Kasprowy Wierch, the famous Morskie Oko Lake and the Gubałówka Mountain.

There are also cable car connection from Zakopane to Kasprowy Wierch and funicular to Gubałówka Mountain. Beside the mountains, Zakopane is showing many monuments of old wooden architecture built in the special, local style and still alive folklore.
