Recorded on the UNESCO Biosphere Reserves List, the Tatra National Park covers both the Polish and Slovakian parts of the range. Tatras are the largest alpine-type massif in Central Europe with Mt Rysy (2499m), the highest peak on the Polish side of the mountains.
